No sale of personal information

Lynx.Surf does not sell your personal information or use your saved links, notes, or images for targeted advertising.

Images are stored with your account

When you upload an image or provide an image URL for a link, Lynx.Surf stores the display copy with your account so your page does not need to load external image files.

Account controls

You can download account data, import supported account data, review active sessions, and view recent security activity from settings.

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Lynx.Surf websites and account features, including your customizable links page, settings, saved notes, login, registration, password reset, and related support features.

This policy does not apply to third-party websites that you save as links or open from your Lynx.Surf page. Those sites have their own privacy practices.

Information We Collect

Lynx.Surf collects the information needed to run your account and display your personalized homepage.

Account information

Your username, email address, password credential data, verification status, password reset or verification data, optional first and last name, and optional profile image or avatar choice.

Your saved content

Your saved link URLs, link titles, link order, page settings, background preferences, uploaded image files, image URLs you provide, stored image copies, and saved notes.

Login and security data

IP address, browser information, active session records, login timestamps, and recent security activity used to keep you signed in and protect the service.

Communications

Messages you send through the contact form or for support, email verification, account recovery, and related service notices.

Anti-abuse checks

Login, registration, and contact forms use hCaptcha to help detect spam, bots, and abusive traffic. hCaptcha may process device, browser, interaction, and network information as part of that check.

How We Use Information

  • To create and maintain your Lynx.Surf account.
  • To authenticate you, keep you signed in, and protect your account from unauthorized access.
  • To display, sort, edit, and sync your saved links, settings, images, and notes.
  • To retrieve and store a copy of link images you upload or provide by URL, so your homepage can load those images from Lynx.Surf instead of external image hosts.
  • To let you download account data, import supported account data, review active sessions, and view recent security activity.
  • To send account verification, password reset, security, and support messages.
  • To prevent abuse, investigate technical issues, maintain logs, and comply with legal obligations.

If you provide an image URL, Lynx.Surf may access that URL to save a display copy. After that, your page normally uses the stored copy.

Cookies and Similar Technology

Lynx.Surf uses cookies and account sessions that are necessary for account login, authentication, and site preferences. These include session cookies and long-lived sign-in cookies that help keep you signed in across visits.

Lynx.Surf does not use your saved links, notes, or image data for targeted advertising. The service may still use standard server logs and required security cookies to operate the site.

How Information Is Shared

Lynx.Surf shares information only when needed to operate, secure, or legally protect the service.

  • Hosting and infrastructure: Data is stored and processed through service providers used to run Lynx.Surf.
  • hCaptcha: hCaptcha is used on login, registration, and contact forms to check whether activity appears human and non-abusive.
  • Support handling: Contact form submissions may be processed through services used by Lynx.Surf to receive, review, and answer messages.
  • Legal and safety reasons: Information may be disclosed if required by law, to respond to valid legal process, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate abuse.
  • Business transfer: If Lynx.Surf is transferred, merged, or reorganized, account information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Lynx.Surf does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Security

Lynx.Surf uses practical safeguards for a small web service, including HTTPS, password protections, sign-in cookies, active session controls, security activity records, and protected storage for saved notes. Link images are normally served through Lynx.Surf rather than being loaded directly from the original external image URL.

No website can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for choosing a strong password, keeping your login information private, reviewing active sessions when needed, and making sure the links and notes you save are appropriate for the sensitivity of your account.

Retention

Account information, saved links, settings, stored images, and notes are kept while your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, or records needed for security, troubleshooting, or legal compliance.

If you delete content from your account, Lynx.Surf will remove it from the active service where practical. Backup copies may take longer to expire.

Your Choices and Rights

  • You can edit or remove saved links, images, notes, and settings from your account.
  • You can download account data and import supported account data from your settings page.
  • You can review active sessions, log out other devices, and view recent security activity from your settings page.
  • You can request access, correction, deletion, or export help by contacting Lynx.Surf.
  • You can clear cookies in your browser, though doing so may sign you out or disable account features.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to know, access, correct, delete, or limit certain uses of your personal information. Lynx.Surf will respond to applicable privacy requests as required by law.

Children

Lynx.Surf is not intended for children under 13, and Lynx.Surf does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact Lynx.Surf so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

Changes to This Policy

Lynx.Surf may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. The updated page will show the new effective date. If changes are significant, Lynx.Surf will make reasonable efforts to provide additional notice.
